Pune: Wanwadi Police Arrests Domestic Helpers Who Stole Over Rs. 3 Lakhs Worth of Jewellery and Cash

Pune, 25th April 2023: The Wanwadi police have successfully arrested two domestic helpers for stealing jewellery and cash worth over Rs. 3 lakhs from a bungalow in Ghorpadi, Pune.

The investigation team, led by Police Sub-Inspector Santosh Sonwane, collected evidence and used secret informers to track down the culprits. The accused, Amol Kisan Shide and Jyotidhanraj Suryavanshi have confessed to committing the crime and have been taken into police custody.

The theft took place in two instances, the first being the theft of jewellery and cash worth Rs. 1.1 lakhs from a Godrej iron cupboard locker in the complainant’s father’s bungalow. The second theft involved the stealing of jewellery worth Rs 1.08 lakhs, which was kept in a drawer and then moved to a cupboard. The police have seized 48 grams of gold jewellery worth Rs 1.98 lakhs and cash amounting to Rs 10,000 from the accused.

The Wanwadi Police Station has appealed to citizens to verify the credentials of their domestic helpers by performing police verification and taking their Aadhaar card, PAN card, and photo identification.

The investigation team included Senior Police Inspector Bhausaheb Patare, Police Inspector (Crime) Sandeep Shivle, and Sub-Inspectors Santosh Sonwane, Ajay Bhosle and police personnel Vinod Bhandalkar, Atul Gaikwad, Amjad Pathan, Santosh Naik, Mahesh Gadve, Sandeep Salve, Vishnu Sutar, Rahul Gosavi, Nilkanth Rathod, Amol Gaikwad, Vitthal Chormale, Manisha Sutar and Sonam Bhagat.
