Superintendent Vishwa Vijay Singh was removed from the service following an enquiry in another case for which he had been suspended in April last year.

The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has terminated the services of its Superintendent Vishwa Vijay Singh, who was a member of the team that raided the Cordelia cruise and arrested Aryan Khan, the son of actor Shah Rukh Khan. He was, however, removed from the service following an enquiry in another case for which he had been suspended in April last year.

An official said Singh was placed under suspension and an enquiry had been ordered in the matter after certain issues were found in the probe conducted by him. Singh was dismissed after taking into consideration the enquiry report’s findings, added the official.

Sameer Wankhede, an Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer, who has been transferred from NCB, led a team of officers, including Singh, on the night of October 2, 2021, to raid the Cordelia cruise ship off the Mumbai coast. NCB claimed to have seized 13 grams of cocaine, five gram of mephedrone, 21 grams of marijuana, 22 pills of MDMA (Ecstasy), and ?1.33 lakh in cash from the vessel.

Eventually, they arrested 17 people, including Aryan Khan, in the case. Khan was later released on bail by the Bombay High Court.
