Authorities have shut down an illegal meat slaughterhouse. The operation was led by local law enforcement officers.
The slaughterhouse in Kachpada No. 1, Near Valmiki Mandir, had been operating without proper licenses and permits for several months. The authorities received a tip-off from a concerned citizen, which prompted the investigation.
Officers found evidence of animal cruelty and unsanitary conditions. They discovered that the animals were being kept in cramped and dirty conditions, and were being slaughtered using crude and outdated methods that caused them extreme suffering.
The authorities seized several live pig animals, which will be taken to a local animal shelter for care. The owner of the illegal slaughterhouse, Sanjeev (Sanju) is currently under investigation and is facing charges related to animal cruelty, operating without a license, and violating food safety regulations.
In a statement, the local authorities thanked the concerned citizen who reported the illegal activity and reminded the public to report any suspicious or illegal activities related to animal welfare and food safety.
Animal welfare organizations have praised the swift action taken by the authorities in shutting down the illegal slaughterhouse and rescuing the animals. They have also called for stricter regulations and enforcement to prevent such illegal activities from occurring in the future.
