An officer said that despite his daughter being a minor, her father, Amar Dombe, allowed her to ride the two-wheeler, leading to the accident.
An FIR has been registered against a man after his 16-year-old daughter who was riding a two-wheeler met with an accident, leading to the death of her 12-year-old friend who was riding a pillion.
Navghar police in Mulund (East) registered the FIR based on a complaint by the father of the deceased against Amar Dombe on charges of causing death due to negligence.
According to police, the incident took place on May 10 around 2 pm, when the 16-year-old girl along with the deceased, Disha Amberkar, we're going on her two-wheeler when it hit a speed-breaker near Kelkar college in Mulund (east) and skidded. Both the girls were flung off the bike with Disha sustaining serious injuries.
She was rushed to Veer Savarkar Hospital in Mulund from where she was referred to Hira Mongi Hospital where she died while undergoing treatment the same day.
After the last rites were conducted on May 14, police recorded the statement of the family members of the deceased and found that the 16-year-old had called Disha to her home on Wednesday, after which they left on her bike.

They registered an FIR against him on charges of causing death due to negligence and sections of the Motor Vehicle Act. Senior inspector Sushil Kamble said that so far no arrest has been made in the case.
