A 71-year-old man married a second time in Delhi for his 45-year-old ailing son, but a few days after the marriage, the woman started harassing him in various ways and refused to take care of the son. Not only this, the woman threatened dire consequences for giving Rs 1 crore. The accused elder got his wife murdered.

Special Correspondent, New Delhi: A 35-year-old woman was stabbed to death in Subhash Nagar under Rajouri Garden police station area. Police investigation revealed that the woman was killed by her 71-year-old husband and 45-year-old stepson with the help of two betel nut killers. The husband, stepson, and both the betel nut killers have been arrested. Police claim that the accused husband has told during interrogation that his wife was troubling him a lot. Now she was demanding one crore rupees from him. To get rid of it, he got him killed by giving him a betel nut of Rs 10 lakh.

DCP Ghanshyam Bansal of West Delhi told that the name of the deceased woman is Pooja Wadhwa (35). Among the arrested accused are the deceased's husband SK Gupta, 71, stepson Amit, 45, and two supari killers Vipin Sethi alias Kaka and Himanshu alias Bali. Both are residents of the Tilak Nagar area. Police say that the plan to kill Pooja was made about 10 days ago. The deal was fixed for Rs 10 lakh. For this Vipin and Himanshu were also given Rs 2.40 lakh in advance.

The main accused SK Gupta is a chartered accountant by profession. In February-2022, his first wife and one of the two sons died four-five years ago. The daughter is married. The 45-year-old son Amit who lives with them is physically ill. He had married Pooja about six months back to take care of her. SK Gupta told the police that shortly after the marriage, his second wife Pooja started harassing him in various ways. She didn't even take care of their son. Now for the last few days, she was demanding one crore rupees from him. Was threatening to face the consequences for not giving.
